Watching a piece of the Tour de France is like going to the National Mall for the 4th of July fireworks display. You arrive early in the morning, get locked into place, get 15 minutes of excitement and, if you're lucky, get to leave before midnight. The Tour is worse (so I hear from people who have spectated).
