That said I've got a welder, and a small shop and am willing to help you out, .... but I'm out on the edge of the world in Warrenton, VA If thats not too far for you let me know and we can coordinate a time/date. -john _______________________________________________ dc-cycles mailing list dc-cycles@XXXXXX http://dc-cycles.org/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/dc-cycles DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=yahoo.com; s=s1024; t=1276796841; bh=S9HhLpYdDaylLhotj+11bbnj3WalJrDKk42P5bk7eFc=; h=Message-ID:X-YMail-OSG:Received:X-Mailer:Date:From:Subject:To:MIME-Version:Content-Type; b=W0/+B0USvUeQ6ARNzOojOHWNy+ANU3VC6ZBn7bPcxK6uO94ezpDZcKtUBtnLO3Qfn0UAzr/fjDUAaUvORd2PS/9tNSJW8+LN7TWiWZiLiWrV8sPuKtzfCmgO+lFRgJCKJbroJ/v25N1GsX795xzS0xjsXqHEbs7yW+gdxzmCong= X-YMail-OSG: LAvm_AAVM1mjM1_3AgjuW.IN7frrZv0Og7CZc88VrTMIdzB nfHQue61n8GWDYTfPJ8FbVVXWCynKzc1LQ9lf.Z_qwK3aABnb6E9TZBBljKU APJCErn8PToHrm_qSHTsN8CC_KSTeQLyfJL1ikcvOeC8v_EwpVVT__YE8hSU MQVdvXD.pky8ZCM5hCyzz9P2KqxC7WwcuilHVpBVqxGCoomK2JlIX9D0e5aO dCJAKtJJ144ZGXZpRQOEVDoB8z.4dQ40BK4xf_prniSCKnD__47bIOTjH2rx dHjR_xwFWmThPu5Y7oBfbk8Px4mTP_FLXo2lWB9udmYs6jx6A9SfpgKbaag- - Date: Thu, 17 Jun 2010 10:47:20 -0700 (PDT) From: matthew patton To: dc-cycles@XXXXXX Subject: [dc-cycles] anone know of the supermoto track between frederiscksburg and Richmond? It gets hot here in July. Not a time to spend in lines or fretting. Of course, vehicle safety and emissions inspections have been up and down in the news since last fall. And there was no inspection charge on my April registration. So it sounds like no inspection action required. Ahhh, careful, Grasshopper, this be DC DMV, eager for gotcha revenue. DMV site info is a muddle between sticker requirements, emissions and safety inspections and little mc specific. So I emailed the mayor's office mid-May. Cutting to pertinents, amid a bunch of phone calls (several calls returned -- it is election year after all) and much consternation and conflicting info: I recently got a DMV mailing containing an auto sticker wrapped in a blank sheet of paper with just an expiration year punched out. (Comments were "a mistake", "sorry", "there should have been a letter" etc. ala BP spill.) On direction, I went to the Half St. *office* this morning, parking "across the street." At the counter they wanted the sticker and registration (plate no. sufficing (I had to duck out to confirm)). Finally, a clerk and I went out to the bike (they have to see the bike) and he was askew about where to put the new '16 sticker since he couldn't remove the old '10 with his fingernail. So 2 stickers now reside on the bike, right and left fork tubes. A new "perpetual" sticker is yet due in the mail as apparently they are making system changes and, while inspections are not required, stickers are. My advice: 30 days before expiration, call 202 727 5450 for *motorcycle* inspection expiration procedures. And wear battle armor. Hopefully YMMV.
