(maybe the inside dash too?) where the fires tend to start... and if they made it modular that in case of an emergency you could pull out the container and use it as a fire extinguisher. _______________________________________________ dc-cycles mailing list dc-cycles@XXXXXX http://dc-cycles.org/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/dc-cycles _ _ _ _ .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. If your forks are 'stock' ie still using damper rods (Racetech GVEmulators is fine too) I need to know what the length of the upper leg is from fork cap to bottom of dust seal aka top of fork lower when at full extension. If the bike is on the side stand, just lean it over a little more and the right side fork will extend the whole way. it's pretty easy to measure. I don't have stock forks anymore (gsxr or zx6 cartridges now) and my notes on the OEM config got misplaced. I can come by your house and slap a tape measure up against the legs. it's a 5 min operation tops. _______________________________________________ dc-cycles mailing list dc-cycles@XXXXXX http://dc-cycles.org/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/dc-cycles _ _ _ _ .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. My street Miata still has the stock seats, but it also has a roll bar and five-point harness. On the street, I don't use the crotch belt, and I don't cinch up tight like at the track or autocross. (BTW, VA law only requires the use of two-point belts on the street.) Perfectly comfortable, and, I feel, mush safer than the stock retracting belts. > What keeps you from sliding under the belts in an accident? It is my understanding that a standard 3 pt belt allows the inside shoulder to rotate forward, preventing you from sliding under the belt in a frontal impact. Since you can't do that with a harness on each shoulder, even loose, you are actually less protected improperly using harnesses. Also, a loose harness on a seat not designed for them can slip off your shoulders, leaving you even more vulnerable. -- Wayne _______________________________________________ dc-cycles mailing list dc-cycles@XXXXXX http://dc-cycles.org/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/dc-cycles _ _ _ _ .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. .-.-.=\-. I'm 6'3"+. My knees are braced (not by choice) against the door and console; I'm pretty shoehorned into the Miata at best. But they're certainly not pulled as tight as they are at the track, where crew usually provides a lot of additional leverage. I can probably lean forward an inch. And there's no way the belts could slip off my shoulders as they're installed. It works for me. I feel I'm much more secure than using the stock belts. -- Larry _______________________________________________ dc-cycles mailing list dc-cycles@XXXXXX http://dc-cycles.org/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/dc-cycles
